At Four Pointes Restaurant (Rock Sound) with Owner Devaughn
A must-go-to is Four Points restaurant in Rock Sound. They just opened in the summer of 2009. Four Points has the best view of Exuma Sound and an awesome group cooking. We had the fish basket and the best beer ever "SANDS".
The young owners name is Devaughn. Their food is AWESOME and you have satellite T.V. - huge plasma. They accommodate your request to view the show of your liking. We went back twice for drinks and appetizers while watching the Miami Dolphins play that week.
My husband and I first visited Eleuthera island in the Bahamas in August of 2008. We stayed in Palmetto Point, Romantic Bungalow, by the Unique Village restaurant. Awesome conch fritters!
We had an amazing seven days of snorkeling the entire island from North Eleuthera to Tarpum Bay.
The Fish Fry on Fridays nights is an event you cannot miss in Governor's harbor, it is so much fun and the food is excellent. There is so much to say about this beautiful island.
In August of 2009 we went back and stayed in Senga Na Lenga in Winding Bay, a very beautiful new home which even exceeded our first trip.
We once again traveled all over the island and found this new amazing place called Sky Beach Club's Bistro restaurant, a must-see when you travel. If you have brunch or have a drink or two you can swim in their infinity pool.
The fish and lobster buying in Tarpum Bay is the best.
One of my favorite beaches in Rainbow Beach and the snorkeling is amazing as well.
We also loved Navy beach, it is so tranquil and there is amazing snorkeling there too.
I believe our favorite is Ten Bay beach. It is nestled amongst some side shaded trees and the snorkeling there is also amazing.
A must-do is travel the entire island and go in through the little narrow roads that appear to go no where but where you end up is heaven all around whether on the Atlantic or Bay side... This is how we found a lot of the great beaches.
We also met a wonderful local called Ernestine, she lives about 2 houses from Rock Sound Airport. We went with her and her grand daughter Shalom to fish. Since then she has been to South Florida and we have invited her over to our home.
The locals from Eleuthera are the best. Please stop by and say hello to Ernestine. She is the 2nd house on the left once you pass Rock Sound airport. Ernestine will go to your rental and cook a really nice meal for you and take you around the island.
There is so much to say about beautiful Eleuthera I could write a book.
We are planning our 3rd trip this summer and taking our 4 teenage kids with us. Hope you enjoy your stay as we did.
