For your Bahama vacations consider Eleuthera island!

Why?...

It's an outer island with rolling hills, i.e. not flat like most of the other 14 inhabited Bahamian islands. Best of all, it's close to Nassau, capital of the Bahamas.

Eleuthera island offers lots of good rental homes and the population is sparse and very friendly.

This is a magical island surrounded by beautiful turquoise waters. Everything that you see and experience on this long and narrow strip of land is special in its own way particularly the many spectacular beaches.

Well, while living on "our" island for years, we had quite a few "magic" moments. But how do I pick the most special one during our Bahama vacations?

It wasn't easy to narrow all of them down to just one. So I set some criteria. For example, the best "must-do" should be easy to accomplish and of course it should create a Bahamas photo in my mind that I will never forget.

So, what is the #1 "must do"-"very special" moment in our Bahama vacations on Eleuthera?...

Going to Tippys beach bar & restaurant to have drinks and snacks. Watching the sun radiate on the turquoise water and the wide pink-sand beach, creating that almost unrealistic beauty.

The view from Tippys in itself is sublime, but our favorite drinks make it perfect. We like to have them out on the deck where we always meet friends and make new contacts.

Just when we sat down, I sometimes pulled out my camera to turn this special Eleuthera moment into some "super special" Eleuthera photos...

We have just arrived, and can't wait to have our drinks, snacks, and to see the magnificent turquois of Baha Mar. This is how the old-day Spaniards used to call the Bahamas. Baha Mar meaning shallow sea. It makes the water look so beautifully turquoise.

After a night of fun, music and dancing, they are ready to leave, their drinks are done... and so is the day.
