My wife and I live on Eleuthera, an Out-Island of the Bahamas. We've had our own experiences while traveling the country. And we found that airport taxi drivers and foreign residents are the best informed people when it comes to Bahamas airlines into and from the destinations below. Bahamas Airlines Operating WITHIN the Bahamas
Bahamasair
is the national carrier of the Bahamas. All flights go through the Nassau hub on New Providence island. There are no direct flights from "other island to other island".To get an idea of all the Bahamasair destinations, click the above link. At the top of the page you'll see a "From" window. Southern Air
is Bahamasair's small competitor but often more reliable with regards to scheduled times. Click this link to book online.

Their high wing planes for scheduled and chartered flights are great. They allow you the most beautiful view of huge natural water color paintings while flying over shallow Bahamian waters. The satellite photo below gives just a faint impression of what's awaiting you.

Most tourists go straight to their destination Nassau or Freeport and stay there for a week or so.But... You could try this:From the US, fly to Abaco, a group of islands and a real boater's paradise. The Abaco capital is Marsh Harbour (airport code MHH). Rent a boat and tour the nearby small and very pretty islands. For bookings on Abaco Air click the respective link above.
