Question to those who've rented Bahama MamaNEW by: Anonymous- Hoping to rent in winter 2013THESI
We've rented homes in Eleuthera 2x and plan to do so with a larger group ( 8 adults over 50) next winter.
We are looking at Kataluma, Five Palms and Bahama Mama.
TO MR SIMON FROM FLORIDA - just curious to know WHy do you think Bahama is the "Mother of All Elethera Rentals"? I realize they ahve all the great "toys" but is this home beachfront or do you have to take golf cart? how far is walk?
I think this pool is 'Shared' with other homes in this 'estate',correct?
TO "ANONYMOUS"- I appreciate your honest but negative feedback as I do Mr Simon's.
Positive and negative feedback from renters are important and it helps 'owners' to improve and it helps 'renters' to make sound decisions.
Any other comments on large BEACHFRONT home rentals with pools w/min 5 bdrms would be helpful
Thank you for your input!

DONT RENT FROM THIS OWNER by: Anonymous
"The good - House is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy the island.
The bad - The house is the worse built house in Wykee Estates and the entry is on second floor so you are constantly going up and down stairs. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on throughout the house. The floors are white tile that constantly look filthy so we spent a lot of time cleaning.
The Worse - The owner is completely unreasonable. We rented this house for my father in law's 70th birthday and there were 6 of us that stayed in the home with the average age of 50. The owner requires a $500 deposit and asks you to do all the laundry and leave the house clean which we did to ensure I received the deposit back. We rented a second house a few doors down and the owner told us no need to clean anything that the cleaning lady will handle and they didn't even require a deposit and were so easy to deal with. Not this lady. I get an email from her telling me that she sent my $500 back but stopped payment on the deposit because we broke the couch and her cleaning lady said it was apparent that someone jumped on it. Please, I highly doubt any grown person would jump on a couch. She went on to tell me that the couch was shipped from the US 6 weeks ago and that she had to pay a 50% duty fee etc since it was shipped from the US. Well just maybe it was somewhat damaged during all the shipping or maybe her kid jumped on it. We didn't even have any children with us and it wasn't some young party group that likes to jump on couches. In fact, we never even sat on the couch. When we were in the house we were on porch or at kitchen table. Do not rent from this lady unless you want to forego your $500 deposit.
The island is unbelievable and there are much better places to rent from so don't waste your time here. She ended a fabulous trip on a very negative note. We will go back but will stay somewhere else where the owner is more reasonable."
