To Really Enjoy Twin Beach...
You'll Have to Get The Timing Right

You will find Twin Beach on the Atlantic side of Eleuthera. The area is called Rainbow which is between Gregory Town -- North-Central-Eleuthera -- and Governor's Harbour airport.

Twin Beach is a unique, absolutely must-see beach. Access has been cut right through the cliff face and you will need to go down a couple of uneven stairs cut into the rock. The cliff overhangs the beach, so there is shade on hot, sunny days.

Go around the rocks at the far end of this tiny beach and you'll discover why it's called Twin Beach.

Yes, there's another, similar beach extending to the North. Fascinating! This is another place you will want to bring your camera.

The waves can get quite large. Therefore it's rather a beach for bobbing than one for swimming.

But it's good for body surfing.

As the waves are pretty intense most of the time, it is not recommended to snorkel here.

One day my wife found a bottled message behind a rock on one of the sand banks here. And yes, we got in touch with the sending family who had included their e-mail address in the message.

The bottle had traveled all the way from San Salvador, 170 miles away, where it was set afloat two months earlier. What a pleasant surprise Twin Beach held for us this day!

The first settlement after the airport is James Cistern. After it you'll see a store and restaurant out in the countryside to your right. This is Big Rock. The store sign is on the left side of the road.

Take a mileage reading. 2.4 miles further north turn right into Cross Island Drive.
