Lighthouse Beach

Probably the best beach in the Bahamas and definitely on Eleuthera, go to this beach NOW! The Walt Disney company has purchased this beach to use as a stop on one of their cruise lines. This is a tragedy for the people of Eleuthera and all those that will never get to experience this beach first hand.

Note that there is a lighthouse here, but it hasn’t worked for ages. Its fun to hike up to and notice the USGS markers around the area.

The drive to Lighthouse is not for the faint of heart…but it is worth it. It is truly magnificent. At the very southern end of the island there is both an Atlantic and Caribbean side of Lighthouse Beach.

Lighthouse beach….you’ll notice a beach sailboat from Haiti in the background
